About The Founder

Joshua Murdock, PharmD graduated from Butler University in May 2020. A full-time pharmacy editor for GoodRx, Joshua has extensive pharmacy practice experience in the community, corporate, and underserved clinic settings. Additionally, Joshua is well-versed in patient care research and has numerous academic publications related to patient care in the outpatient oncology setting.

Joshua is notably passionate about advancing the practice of pharmacy, helping patients become more informed about their own care, and being thorough with communication. Pharmacist Consult was founded for two reasons. First and foremost, it was created to provide a platform for pharmacists to directly share their voices and evidence-based practice experiences with patients in an approachable manner. It was also founded as a creative outlet for Joshua’s writing and editing passions.

Originally from Colorado, Joshua relocated to Indiana to complete his undergraduate and pharmacy coursework at Butler University. After graduation, Joshua continued his eastward trek to Rhode Island to complete his postdoctoral fellowship. In regard to pharmacy-related organizations, Joshua is associated with Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, and Rho Chi International Honor Society.

In July 2021, Joshua separated from Pharmacist Consult to avoid a conflict of interest with his duties at GoodRx.
